The crucial role of the lipid layer of the tear film
The lipid layer is a very thin layer of fat, composed of lipids produced by the Meibomian glands. It protects the tears from evaporation and prevents tears from running over the lid margin. A lack of these lipids results in an increased evaporation of tears.

How does CALMO® Eye Spray work?
The liposomes in CALMO® Eye Spray are very similar to the lipids in your own tear film, which are responsible for stabilizing that previously mentioned lipid layer.
During the application:
Once sprayed on the closed eyes, the liposomes contained in CALMO® Eye Spray mix with lipids produced by the Meibomian glands at the lid margin.
After the application:
With every subsequent blink, this optimized lipid mix gets spread onto the tear film and thus stabilizes it. The effect of 1 – 2 sprays will work for approximately 4 hours.

The excessive evaporation of tears is one of the root causes of dry eye. CALMO® Eye Spray addresses this by complementing and helping stabilize your natural protection against excessive tear evaporation, which is your tear film's lipid layer.

Not everyone can handle the thrill of putting something into their open eye, and that’s ok.
CALMO® Eye Spray is sprayed on closed eyelids, and it is very easy to use.
Can be used while wearing make up
CALMO® Eye Spray can be used before applying makeup, after makeup removal, and also while wearing eye makeup.
While wearing makeup, it is recommended to apply only one spray from a slightly greater distance (about 20 cm).
