OCUNOX® contains vitamin A, a natural component of the tear film, that supports tolerance and helps ensure that the ointment mixes well with available tears to relieve the burning sensation of dry or tired eyes.

Why CALMO® Eye Spray?
CALMO® Eye Spray is a preservative-free and phosphate-free liposomal spray for dry eye relief.
Upon sprayed on the closed eye, CALMO® Eye Spray offers immediate comfort and humidification of dry eyes and stabilizes the lipid layer of the tear film. It should be used in environment-related disorders such as dry eyes, strained eyelids, foreign body sensation, and burning and itching sensation in the eyes.
The liposomes and pro-vitamin B5 (dexpanthenol) in CALMO® Eye Spray moisturize the eye area and provide preventative protection for the skin.
How does CALMO® Eye Spray work?
CALMO® Eye Spray addresses one of the root causes of dry eye.

The lipid layer of the tear film prevents tears from evaporating and running over the lid margin. A lack of these lipids results in increased evaporation of tears.

The liposomes in CALMO® Eye Spray consist of lipids very similar to those which occur in your own tear film.
Once sprayed on the closed eyes, the liposomes in CALMO® Eye Spray mix with the natural lipids of the tear film. With every subsequent blink, this optimized lipid mix gets spread onto the tear film and thus stabilizes it.
The lipid layer of the tear film is very thin, so already a small amount of CALMO® Eye Spray is sufficient to repair and stabilize that lipid layer.

The effect of 1–2 sprays will work for approximately 4 hours.
Who can use CALMO® Eye Spray and how long/how often?
CALMO® Eye Spray is suitable for all ages, for pregnant women, and during lactation.

Generally, applying CALMO® Eye Spray 3–4 times per day is recommended. If you apply CALMO® Eye Spray more frequently (e.g.: more than 10 times per day) or suffer from more severe complaints, please consult your ophthalmologist or optometrist.

CALMO® Eye Spray is suitable for long-term treatment.

For more severe cases, CALMO® Eye Spray may be used more often and in combination with HYLO®, HYLO-DUAL®, HYLO GEL®, or HYLO DUAL INTENSE™. Ideally, CALMO® Eye Spray is used about 5 minutes after application of the HYLO® drops.
When should you not use CALMO® Eye Spray?
CALMO® Eye Spray should not be used if you are sensitive to any of the ingredients.
What are the ingredients of CALMO® Eye Spray?
CALMO® Eye Spray contains:
-
Dexpanthenol
-
Vitamin A - palmitate
-
Vitamin E
-
Soy lecithin
-
Ethanol
-
Purified water

Lubrication with artificial tears and the use of a liposome-based eye spray, like CALMO®, have both proved their applicability for the treatment of dry eye symptoms after refractive and cataract surgery.
How to use CALMO® Eye Spray?
CALMO Eye Spray is very easy to use!

Spray CALMO® Eye Spray 1 to 2 times upon the closed eyelids from a distance of approximately 10cm. Generally, applying CALMO® Eye Spray 3 to 4 times per day is recommended.
When using eye makeup, CALMO® Eye Spray should be used before applying makeup and after makeup removal.

CALMO® Eye Spray can also be used with previously applied eye makeup. In this case, only one spray should be applied and the distance between the dispenser and the eye should be slightly greater (about 20 cm).
How to store CALMO® Eye Spray?

Why is preservative free and phosphate free important?
Preservatives help to keep the contents sterile. However, long-term exposure to preservatives can damage the cells of the eye surface, destroy the natural tear film, and cause intolerance.

Phosphates can form practically insoluble crystals due to the reaction with calcium (which is released from damaged cells of the eye surface) and can impair your vision. Modern eye drops and ointments used for dry eyes, particularly after eye surgery or injuries, should not contain phosphates.

Eye drops and ointments are used frequently and stay long on the eye surface. It is particularly important that such treatments do not contain any harmful substances.

That is why our Gold Standard treatments include the preservative-free and phosphate-free HYLO® family of lubricating eyes drops, OCUNOX® eye ointment, CALMO ® Eye Spray and our soap-free lid hygiene solutions CALMO® Lid Care and Naclino™ Lid Wipes.

Safe, German-engineered HYLO® bottle technology ensures that the contents of HYLO® family stay sterile for 6 months after first use/opening without preservatives. Similarly, OCUNOX®, thanks to its unique formulation, can be used for up to 6 months after first use/opening.
What else do you need to know about ocular medications, when using HYLO® family?
If you use any other medicated eye drops or ointments, please allow at least 30 minutes between applications.

If you are applying medicated eye drops, administer them first and allow at least 30 minutes before applying HYLO® family of lubricating eye drops.

If you use other eye ointments, administer those after applying HYLO® family.

As with all eye drops, you may experience temporary blurring of vision directly after application, which may affect the ability to drive and use machines. Please be advised to wait a moment until vision is no longer impaired before driving or using machines.
There is no seal on the box. Is it a used/returned product?
At CandorVision, we prioritize the safety and integrity of our treatments. Each box is sealed with small, transparent, perforated seals located on the top and bottom, which may sometimes be hard to notice.
Additionally, we have robust measures in place to ensure the treatments remain untampered before use. If you have any concerns or questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us—we are here to help!
How do you keep track of the first day of use?
HYLO® family can be used for 6 months after the first use. To help you remember, the label on the bottle has a space where you can note the date when the bottle was first used.
There seems to be liquid inside the HYLO® bottle, but the bottle is not dispensing any drops
HYLO® family contains 10ml of solution, which is equivalent to 300 drops, and HYLO® mini family contains 5mL, 150 drops. Due to the specific design of the HYLO® bottle, a small amount of drops will remain in it at exhaustion.
